Houston Faith Church

To know Him, and to make Him known

We envision a New Testament anchored church where the Word of God, accurately taught, holds the highest place and where the presence and power of the Holy Spirit is emphasized in church and in people’s lives, with the ultimate purpose of helping every person believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, become a real disciple,
and build His Kingdom.

We expect faith and real life to intersect as we live by faith in every area of life, being led by the Spirit and believing the Bible so as to obey it, walk in love by it, and receive God’s promises through it.

This faith is for every generation, thereby we believe in imparting it to our kids and teenagers so that they experience God in their lives in a real way during their younger years.

We envision a church so amazed by the good news and so full of love that people are compelled to share the gospel with others, resulting in every believer having vision not only for world evangelism, but also for personal evangelism, doing the works of Jesus. With this purpose, we contend for continual awakening and revival, expecting the power of God to accompany the preaching of the gospel.

We dream of a church that resembles the Book of Acts church, where everyone participates, everyone fellowships, everyone contributes, everyone prays, everyone loves, and everyone builds the Kingdom of God…together. And because of that unity, God’s grace and miracles are prevalent.

We are faith people. We are Word people. We are Holy Spirit people.
And we are lovers of God and people.

Welcome to Houston Faith Church!

Pastor Chas was born again at age 5, in Houston, Texas, graduated from Texas A&M University with an Engineering degree, and worked five years as a business systems consultant. After fully dedicating himself to the Lord, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1995, Chas sensed the call to full time ministry. He received most of his Bible training from Kenneth E. Hagin and most of his ministry training from Angelo Mitropoulos. He served as an assistant at a church for two years, beginning in 1997, then travelled as an Evangelist for about four years, preaching in local churches and also with Angelo in R.W. Schambach’s last five years of tent revivals.

Chas has written five life-changing books and co-authored a Minister's Handbook for effective ministry training. His ministry to the Church at large is marked with a refreshing demonstration of God’s Word and power that quiets the emotions, stirs the spirit, and brings people back to their high calling of God in Christ.  With New Testament devotion to precise, scriptural logic, Chas is a foundation builder of God’s Word in people, holding nothing back in igniting people’s faith toward God while keeping them committed to the integrity of God’s Word.

Chas is currently a trustee on the board of ICFM, International Convention of Faith Ministries, a worldwide ministers fellowship organization with over 700 gospel preachers.

Through Stevenson Ministries, Chas and Joni air their television broadcast, The Faith Walk, around the world on The Word Network and also the Victory Broadcast Network, as well as via the internet.

Pastor Joni was born again at age 10, in Port Neches, Texas, and graduated from Lamar University with an Accounting degree, working many years as a CPA before full time ministry. Joni was baptized in the Spirit in 1994, and began serving the Lord faithfully at her home church and also in outside ministries, including overseas on several mission trips. She received most of her Bible training under Kenneth Hagin and most of her ministry training and development with Rev. Lora Alison.

Joni has been reviving and awakening people to God as a true prophet to the Body of Christ. There is a notable grace and power upon her that clearly elevates congregations into the glory of God and ignites their faith and passion for Christ. With grounded and refreshing New Testament doctrine, she brings a right on "now" message, with demonstration of the Spirit, miracles, and healings. And after her meetings, it is clear that "God has just come close to people."

Joni's first solo book is just out, Eliminate the Fear Factor, and it's already radically crushing the fears that have plagued people for years. She also co-authored Stevenson Ministries' Minister's Handbook with Pastor Chas.

Can Women Be Preachers...Scripturally?

Can women be preachers, teachers, pastors, leaders in the church? Because every sincere Bible reader runs into this question, we need right answers so that Christians aren't living with uncomfortable uncertainties nor unnecessary restraints. Pastor Chas unfolds great scriptural proof and evidence to answer the question with Scriptural honesty.

Our History

Houston Faith Church began in Sept. 2002, when Chas & Joni followed the leading of God and knew that it was time to begin a great gospel work in Houston.  With no church members, but only a dream and a vision, they sent word out to a few people that might need a home church.

They attempted to begin meeting in their house, or in a school, or a daycare, but it seemed that the only place that felt right was an office building suite.  They custom designed a 4200 ft church from an empty warehouse space and had it built within 30 days.  The building was equipped with classrooms for the teens, children, and nursery, as well as ample office space to begin and a 100+ seat sanctuary with a balcony.  8 (eight) committed, faithful, bold believers pioneered the Houston Faith congregation, and many more courageous souls have joined the vision since then . . .

After out-growing that initial 100 seat building, we moved to a new location where we could at least double in attendance, and after a few years, we had tripled. Then, for several years, we attempted to purchase 17 acres of land (which wasn't for sale) right across the street...and finally, in 2017, the owner sold it to us!  We began building in 2018, and finished our brand new campus in April 2020, right as the pandemic hit the world! But God kept us solid and growing, and now we're established in the city with a full church campus that can reach people for many decades to come!

Houston Faith Church has grown into a dynamic, thriving assembly of believers who are hungry for God, dedicated to the kingdom of God, and serving the Lord in truth.  Since the beginning, neither the vision nor the ministry at Houston Faith Church has ever changed.  It was established on the Word of God with sincere, literal Bible teaching and preaching that feeds the soul and builds people's faith enough to experience Jesus Christ and walk closely with God.  And it continues as such.

We have always been determined to allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us....from church decisions to church services.  And because of that, we get to see His love, His power, and His goodness.  Here at HFC, it's all about people.
It's all about the next person meeting Jesus and walking with God, full of the Holy Spirit.  And that means it's all about you...

Our Future

Our current buliding is 26,000 ft large and will provide for about 750 people, but we've got Phase 2 coming soon and Phase 3 for our future!'s not too late for you to join us in this most exciting time of pioneering something great for the kingdom of God! So, take a look, take a drive over, and let's spread the gospel together.

Tenets of Faith

  • We believe in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Creator of all things.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the first begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, was crucified, died, buried, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true man.
  • We believe the Bible, in its entirety, to be the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost.
  • We believe in personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in sanctification through the Holy Spirit and by the Word of God, and we believe in personal holiness, purity of heart and life.
  • We believe in divine healing through faith in the name of Jesus Christ and that healing is included in our redemption.
  • We believe in water baptism, in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as distinct from the new birth, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4), in the gifts of the Spirit, and in the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that all of these are available to believers today.
  • We believe in the Christian's hope: the eminent, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
